Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Medtruva (“Medtruva”, “we”, “us”) collects when you visit this website, join our waitlist, contact us, or place an order, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It forms part of our Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the website.

Who this policy applies to

This website is intended for adults aged 21 and over who are purchasing products strictly for laboratory research. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you join the waitlist we collect your email address. When you contact us or use the website chat we collect your name, email address, and the contents of your message. When you create an account or place an order we collect your name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping addresses, order details, and any notes you add to the order.

Payment information. Card payments are processed by our payment provider (WooPayments, powered by Stripe). Your full card number is entered directly with the payment provider and is never stored on our servers. We receive only a payment confirmation, the card brand, the last four digits, and information the provider uses for fraud screening.

Age verification. Before you can use the website you confirm that you are 21 or older and a researcher. We record that confirmation in a browser cookie so that you are not asked again for 30 days. We do not collect your date of birth or identity documents at this step.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites we receive your IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device type, the pages you view, the site you came from, and the date and time of your visit. This is collected through server logs, cookies, and similar technologies described below.

How we use your information

We use personal information to: process and deliver your orders and send order confirmations, shipping updates, and receipts; verify eligibility, including age and research-use confirmation; prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access; answer your questions and provide customer support; notify waitlist subscribers when the store opens and send updates you have asked for; operate, secure, and improve the website; comply with tax, accounting, export, and other legal obligations; and enforce our Terms and Conditions and Refund and Returns Policy.

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract (orders and accounts), our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, site improvement, and communicating with customers), your consent (waitlist and marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time), and compliance with legal obligations.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who need it to run the website and fulfil orders, and only for those purposes: our payment provider (WooPayments / Stripe) to process payments and screen for fraud; shipping carriers to deliver your order; our web-hosting and caching provider (Hostinger and LiteSpeed) to serve the website; our live-chat provider (Tidio) to answer your messages; and email and analytics services we use to send communications and understand site usage. We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to lawful requests from public authorities, to protect our rights, property, or safety or those of others, or in connection with a merger, sale, or reorganisation of our business.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies that are necessary for the website to function, including the age-verification cookie (medtruva_verified, 30 days), WooCommerce session and cart cookies that remember the items in your basket and your storefront region (United States or United Arab Emirates), a login cookie if you have an account, and a caching cookie used to serve pages quickly. Our payment provider and chat provider also set cookies to prevent fraud and keep your chat session open. If we use analytics cookies, they help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the website, including checkout, may not work without the necessary cookies. We do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.

Marketing emails

If you join the waitlist or agree to receive updates, we may email you about the store opening, new products, and offers. Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Opting out does not affect transactional emails about orders you have placed.

How long we keep your information

We keep order and payment records for as long as required by tax, accounting, and product-traceability obligations, typically up to seven years. Account information is kept while your account is active. Waitlist and marketing details are kept until you unsubscribe. Chat and support messages are kept for as long as needed to resolve your query and for a reasonable period afterwards. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security purposes. When information is no longer needed we delete or anonymise it.

International transfers

Medtruva serves customers in the United States and the United Arab Emirates, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where we transfer personal information across borders we take steps intended to protect it in line with applicable law, including using providers that commit to appropriate safeguards.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, tokenised card processing, access controls, and reputable hosting. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you have an account, you are responsible for keeping your password confidential.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy in a portable format, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Residents of California and certain other U.S. states may also request details of the categories of information we collect and disclose, and have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising their rights; we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. Residents of the United Arab Emirates have comparable rights under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will reply within the time required by applicable law. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to your local data-protection authority.

Third-party websites

The website may link to other websites, including references and publications, that we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we encourage you to read them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page with a new “Last updated” date, and where the change is significant we will notify customers by email or a notice on the website.
